## Prayer and Offering (5 mins)**Parents:** Please encourage your children to bring an offering to church. You may help your child prepare by setting aside a coin for them to bring on Sunday. This is a great opportunity to teach them about giving to God with a thankful heart and trusting Him to provide.
> ### What is Offering? > > Offering is when we **give something to God** to show our love and thankfulness. In church, we often give money as an offering, but we can also give our time, talents, and kindness to God and others. > > ### Why Do We Make an Offering? > > **To Thank God** – Everything we have comes from God! Giving back is a way to say, “Thank You, God!” > **To Trust God** – When we give, we show that we trust God to take care of us. > **To Help Others** – Offerings help the church teach about Jesus, help people in need, and share God’s love. > > The Bible says in 2 Corinthians 9:7, > *"God loves a cheerful giver!" If someone saw them sitting on the counter, they would think they were the exact same thing: just two white eggs. They look identical on the outside.” > > *(Pick up the raw egg and gently tap it on the edge of the bowl until it cracks and leaks).* > > “This first egg is weak and fragile. It breaks easily. But watch the second one.” > > *(Firmly tap the hard-boiled egg on the table or peel a small section to show it is solid).* “ > > Are you surprised at how strong this one is? Even though it looks exactly like the first egg on the outside, it is different on the inside. God is **Faithful**, and He made a special promise to Simeon: that he would not die until he had met God’s promised Savior.” > > > *(Hold up the baby doll and point to the Temple visual.)* > > “Simeon waited at the temple. Many people walked in and out—some were big, strong, and wise-looking. Then, a mother and father named Mary and Joseph brought baby Jesus to the temple.” > > *(Rock the baby doll in your arms.) * > > “Jesus was a real human baby. He ate, slept, cried, and wore diapers. He looked small and weak. But God told Simeon that this tiny baby was the promised Savior of the world!” “Simeon took Jesus in his arms and praised God.
